Ants
As old as dinosaurs, ants are social insects that live in colonies. They are usually a staple of summer and can start to flare up and relocate inside houses even with a little bit of rain.
It can be frustrating when they get inside your home or when they feast with you during picnics. Ants constantly hunt for food and water (or moisture) hence, they can usually be found in the kitchen and bathroom. They can, of course, carry with them disease-causing organisms such as E. coli, Streptococcus, Shigella, Salmonella, and Staphylococcus. Their bites and stings can be irritating and can sometimes cause severe allergic reactions or anaphylaxis.
It is not fun discovering an ant colony is outside your house that is why it’s important to maintain good sanitation. However, even the tidiest house can sometimes still have ant issues so be proactive and keep the ants away from your yard and home.
